FAQ
1. WHAT IS RYISE?
This is a scientific program designed to encourage and support you; young scientists in the field of Neonatology in India. Your submitted research done as part of your post-doctoral training in the field or allied specialties would be reviewed and scored by top experts from across the country. The titles of all your work would be on the E database of the RyISE website. Of these selected scientists would be invited to present on-site, at the program to be held on 22 and 23 July 2023 in Trivandrum. This platform is for only research paper presentations and not a small part of a larger conference. The others would also receive constructive comments and suggestions on how to move forward in the subject and how to get the work published.
2. How will I benefit from sending research work/ presenting in RyISE?
The titles of your research work would be available on public domain in the website; and will help many others to seek your experience in planning their research work in similar subjects.
20 young researchers will get opportunity to present over 30 min (unlike a shorter time at most conferences). Your discussions with senior reviewers will help to write the report better and improve opportunities to publish.
3. Will I receive any award or certificates?
YES, there will be incentives as cash awards (in addition to the reimbursements for travel and stay) in the following categories:
● Intensive care
● Care of non-sick newborns
● Community newborn care
● Perinatology
● Allied specialties
● Basic sciences
● New ideas
4. Will there be a Publication conflict? Can I submit my work for publication at an indexed peer-reviewed journal, after it is listed on RyISE E-database or presented at “learning together series”?
You can publish.
5. Is my research work at risk for Plagiarism? Can my work be stolen?
The text of your research work will be shared only with reviewer and will not be available in public domain. Your research file may be locked by a password before you to mail us.
6. Will unlisted scientific research promote incorrect research messages?
No, All the listed research would be evaluated by an academic committee of RyISE and potential improvements would also be included in discussion.
7. Requirements for research submission?
No payment of any fees for submission
Email of Authors/ all Co-authors/ Guide will be required.
8. Is there a author guidelines to submit manuscript?
Very often young researchers do not submit their research work as they are unable to write up in prescribed formats. We would provide a proposed structure for the research reports. If the authors submit his research work as a word or pdf document as submitted to their primary academic body without adapting to our suggested template also, it would suffice. We seek more time for reviewer to adapt the paper and revert back to the primary author for approval.
9. If I have done research long back, can I still submit?
YES, we will catalog by year of submission – all young scientists are welcome.
Agreements from the guide/ co-authors would suffice.
10. Can I apply a second time for learning together series a second time for oral presentation if not selected earlier?
All titles submitted will be listed on the website. If the study was done again after suggestions (new study) then they are eligible to apply for selection in presentations in subsequent editions of RyISE.
11. Is this part of a conference?
NO, RyISE Learning together series will be a stand-alone podium presentation platform for research paper presentations of selected authors only, there will be no guest lectures.
12. Is there any age limit for qualifying as a young scientist?
Principal author should be <45 years at the time of submission.
13. Can I access full text of a study?
Yes, you could reach out to the primary author of the study through the website. The author would then decide on sharing the research details if they choose to.
14. Will you accept research titles from all over the globe?
Research should enroll neonates within India and also research work should have been submitted to an academic body within India. We however do not seek to ascertain Indian citizenship of authors.
15. Will feedback of the reviewers be given to each author after the research is reviewed?
Yes, feedback would be given by the reviewer on a structured template, the anonymity of reviewers would be the choice of the reviewer.
16. What is the job of the reviewer?
To evaluate the submitted full texts of research work on a pre-defined template / scoring system and also to include keywords to facilitate search on website. A maximum of 2-3 reviews from each reviewer
17. Do we accept all research work sent/ How do we ensure the quality of research put up in the E-database?
Yes, there may be concerns about compromise on quality if we accept all submitted titles, the academic team of RyISE will guide on potential improvements and include a plain language summary to guide clinical practice.
18. Will you accept research work in the protocol phase?
Not for this session scheduled in 2023, but maybe in later editions of RyISE.
19. Is there a hidden financial agenda behind RyISE?
There is no money transaction / account of RyISE. The refunds for travel and accommodation will be provided directly from CSR funds of KIMSHealth*.
20. Is this a project of KIMSHealth?
NO, The KIMSHealth Corporate Social Responsibility funds are allocated to various activities conducted by independent organizations under the head of “Promoting health care, preventive health”.
21. Can I submit a research work to RyISE even if I am a reviewer?
Yes, you can. The research work will be evaluated by other reviewers.
22. Can we submit research work done several years earlier? Is there a limit?
This being the first time, we wish to bring to the database, as many research titles to public domain
